Oscar-nominated Hollywood celebrity Alec Baldwin got arrested and handcuffed for driving his bike on the wrong way on Fifth Avenue Tuesday afternoon. Baldwin had allegedly overreacted while the two officers actually summoned him twice before stopping him and asking for ID.
Panic on Baldwin’s Twitter Account Tuesday afternoon: the Hollywood star seems to have ridden his bike on the wrong way on one of the biggest boulevards in New York. Good enough reason to get a ticket, some would say, but not to get handcuffed and arrested. Well, the whole story was reported by the actor himself on his Twitter account which of course stirred fans quiet a lot considering the prompt reactions.
“Meanwhile, photographers outside my home ONCE AGAIN terrified my daughter and nearly hit her with a camera. The police did nothing. New York City is a mismanaged carnival of stupidity that is desperate for revenue and anxious to criminalize behaviour once thought benign,” Baldwin wrote right after the incident.
According to Baldwin`s tweets it seems it was a classic Hollywood good cop-bad cop sort of situation. Only it was going on in real life, go figure! It would appear one of the officers was alright with summoning the actor and letting him go while the other thought it would be better to handcuff him.
Of course, that irritated Baldwin, who wrote: “I think handcuffing some 4 riding a bicycle in the wrong directions is ridiculous. Report of disorderly conduct is a distortion by Moreno”.
According to a NYPD source who confirmed the whole scene to In Touch, the Hollywood star got belligerent after he couldn’t present his ID when asked to, because he didn’t have one on him.
Long story short, Baldwin’s little adventure seems to end up with a trial programmed for 14th of July. The actor strongly believes that the officer was lying so it might after all be a hot summer for the Hollywood actor.
We’ll remind you that Baldwin had a traffic-kind-of incident last year as well, only then he propelled a photographer on top of a parked car while the guy was trying to get pictures of the celebrity.
