Slovenian exhaust manufacturer Akrapovic shows their all-new 25th-anniversari limited-edition line of exhausts for BMW motorcycles. Founded 25 years ago but bike racer Igor Akrapovic, the company quickly became a synonym for high-performance exhausts and became one of the benchmarks in the field.
With relentless support for racing teams, including BMW, Akrapovic established a constant and consistent presence on the podiums of various competitions. Celebrating their25the anniversary, Akrapovic thought that giving to those in need is even more rewarding than trophies, so a special, one-off edition of exhausts was crafted to be auctioned for charity.
Now, not only that these cans will not be available though Akrapovic's dealer network, they are already collector's pieces because of their scarcity.
All these cans come with a distinctive matte black color over the high-grade titanium sleeves and the 25th anniversary Akrapovic logo. Certain models also come with a special nano coating to ensure they will look as good as new even after use. If there will be anyone willing to use such a rare exhaust, that is.
Only six BMW models will receive these Akrapovic cans, with four units dedicated to each. One of these bikes is known to be the epitome of sportiveness, the S1000RR, and we can only speculate that we might find the R1200RT, R1200GS and the R nineT among them.
The 25th exhaust will go to a lucky BMW M4 owner or enthusiastic collector, and all the cans will be marked and numbered individually to further enhance their special character.
As we told you already, Akrapovic won't be selling them anywhere, but donate them to charity instead. "They will be auctioned to raise funds for various good causes," BMW announces.
Each of these special cans are identical to the original prototypes that will be put on display at the Akrapovic headquarters, and which are numbered 00. Stay tuned for more news, we'll try to keep an eye on these beauties and tell you when they are up for grabs.
