Akrapovic Launches BMW M4 Exhaust Commercial: Silence is Overrated

Usually tuners don’t invest a whole lot in commercials for their products. That’s all changed now as Akrapovic is surely trying to impress us with their latest work. The exhaust specialist just published their latest commercial and it’s looking rather good.
We’re not used to seeing such good quality in tuners’ marketing clips. Not even huge tuners like Hamann or AC Schnitzer don’t go as far as Akrapovic did here but we’re definitely not complaining, don’t get us wrong.

The whole idea behind it is rather brilliant, claiming that ‘silence is overrated’. Indeed it is, sirs, indeed it is. And with their aftermarket exhaust you surely won’t have any problems in this regard.

The British voice in the background is soothing and reminds us of the commercials Jaguar did for the new F-Type and its villains, commercials that were taken to a whole new level. The same thing is happening here but it’s not a big manufacturer that does it but rather a big tuner.

Speaking of the product itself, apart from offering a new soundtrack for the car, it seems like changing the stock exhaust with one offered by the Slovenians will get you 10 extra horsepower, a weight reduction of around 11.4 kg (25 lbs) and a torque increase of 16 Nm (11.8 lb-ft).

Therefore, the stock M4 should be making 441 HP and 566 Nm (417 lb-ft) of torque with the Akrapovic exhaust and also be lighter on its feet by a rather considerable margin. Oh, and in the meantime you also get a meaner growl with it.

There’s also a price to pay, of course, and that’s around $6,500 for the full exhaust, depending on your vendor. You can also get just the rear muffler if you wish and save around $2,000. Needless to say that won’t get you the same results.
