Famous exhaust manufacturer, Akrapovic, just announced that it will be joining forces with the Monster Energy X-raid Team in the 2014 Dakar Rally to make sure the MINI wins it again.
The MINI ALL4 Racing cars of the X-Raid Team will be using a 3-liter BMW diesel engine that makes a little over 300 HP and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque, an unit that the Slovenian company is used to already.
“During the 23-years of Akrapovi , the company has achieved great success within the Dakar thanks to great men on superb motorcycles. But, of course, Akrapovi does not rest on its laurels; for Akrapovi to compete at the highest level of cross-country rally with four-wheels is a challenge we relish,” said Uroš Rosa, Akrapovi CEO.
“Our business of delivering exhaust systems that produce maximum performance with durability goes hand-in-hand with the technically proven MINI ALL4 Racing cars and dedication and skill of Monster Energy X-raid Team. Akrapovi wishes every team member and Dakar competitor the best of luck,” he added.
The first event of the 2014 Rally will start on January 4, in Argentina, heading towards Bolivia and then in Chile for the finish line.
