The latest products are dedicated to several bikes bearing the bar and shield badge, and this move is not at all a surprising one. Harley-Davidson is a historic brand with a huge name in the business and simply mentioning its name may cause some riders to start dreaming. Given the almost magic status of the brand, seeing Akrapovic offering a dedicated line of Slip-On exhausts only looks natural.

Specially developed noise inserts and chambers that enhance the unmistakable Harley-Davidson sound

This is the exact description in Akrapovic’s press release. This means that the Slovenian manufacturer got involved really deep in the project and has done so much more than simply adapting some of their cans to the Harley specs.

The silencers even leave customers the possibility to tune the sound of their bikes. The interior components can be adjusted for obtaining different sounds, from a tamed one to the full Harley roar, enhanced by the unmistakable Akra aural signature.

Harley’s Sportster even benefits from a special valving system which has been developed to route the exhaust gases on two different paths. Using this system provides the Sportster with a better gas flow, adding to the performance figures while maintaining the traditional Harley overtones.

Ceramic black or chrome

Akrapovic is offering the new exhausts in either chrome or ceramic black, while the aesthetics of the Sportster-specific cans is augmented by heat shields. The optional valve system is actuated by a switch button, Akrapovic tells us. These new silencers will only be available through Akrapovic’s dealer network and will fit 2014 Harley-Davidson Sportster, Softail, and Dyna models.

You can be among the first to see these new cans if you’re in Germany and pay a visit to the Custombike Show in Bad Salzuflen this weekend (5-7 December). No prices have been announced yet, but you should definitely not expect these to come cheap. The exhausts for the 106 cui Victory bikes are €1,450 ($1,845).
