Akrapovic announces the introduction of what they say will be a (r)evolutionary exhaust system dedicated to motorcycles and scooters. While absolutely no technical information was revealed, the Slovenian manufacturer adds that the new system will be revealed at the Intermot show in Cologne, Germany at the beginning of October.
The only detail that has surfaced is a photo published on the Akrapovic website, and which apparently shows the exhaust port of a silencer. While the shape of the inner perforated core looks just like that of any other Akrapovic silencer, the rest of the can’s profile is way different.
The first impression is that of a somewhat traditional diamond-shaped section, but the hexagonal profile has an almost organic shape, with the trapezoidal outlet and curved sides being truly… intriguing. Unfortunately there’s absolutely nothing more we can tell you about Akrapovic’s new exhaust. If anything, the endcap looks very organic and this isn’t necessarily a good thing, as this shape will definitely impact the looks of edgier bikes.
However, we can almost vouch that there is so much more at play here than upgraded looks, as Akrapovic is well-known for the high-tech factor of their exhausts. The teaser photo also makes us think about the sonic signature of the new exhausts, as the ripples in the promo picture are indeed looking like a representation of sonic waves. One more week worth of waiting until the Intermot opens its doors, and all will be revealed!
Besides the introduction of the new exhaust system, Akrapovic will also present the new line of state-of-the-art silencers and headers, alongside with the award-winning Ducati 1199 Panigale exhaust which made it into the galleries of the Red Dot Museum in Singapore. Even more, a famous Valentino Rossi number 46 Yamaha MotoGP bike will be on display through the Intermot weekend. The launch of the new product will take place on October 1st, 11am at the Akrapovic stand.
