In May this year, country singer Miranda Lambert announced that, for the first time ever since she’d started collecting RVs, she had purchased her first new one: a 2020 Airstream Globetrotter she named The Sheriff.
As a touring artist, Lambert has spent a lot of time on the road in a tour bus, but she hardly ever got the chance to see the places she was stopping in to perform. This was behind her decision to purchase a new RV, and the summer of 2020 is the perfect timing to go on road trips, what with concerts and other events suspended on health considerations.
When she announced the new purchase, of the 2020 Airstream Globetrotter, Lambert also revealed she had named it The Sheriff. The Sheriff, she said, would be her and her husband’s road companion as soon as possible.
That time has come: The Sheriff has made its first road trip, an impressive 1,000 miles over 6 days and 4 states, Lambert says on her official Instagram. The Sheriff has also been helping her discover the joys of glamp life, aka camping in full luxury, without missing any of the creature comforts of home.
“6 days: 4 states: 1000 miles,” the singer writes on social media. “Nashville to Pigeon Forge TN... Virgina to PA and then NY. It was a nice change of pace. Something about the highway is calming, and at the same time keeps you completely focused. I like to drive a lot.”
She also says setting up camp takes under 10 minutes, and lists cooking in the Dutch Oven on fire coals as her favorite pastime while camped. The photo attached to this article was taken right after she was able to back into camp, for the first time ever.
The 2020 edition of the Globetrotter is a modern take on the Globetrotter Travel Trailers of the 1950s and is offered in 8 size variants. They include anything from a shower room and high-end kitchen appliances, to WiFi and LG LED HDTVs with 110V battery for off-grid movie nights.
