People on holidays do dumb things. Whenever we're on vacation, it's as if our brains take a little time off as well, and the rest of the body is left to fend on its own. And, oh boy, it doesn't do that great of a job.
Usually, it's the little things that you can have a laugh about when you get back home, but sometimes this cerebral R&R can have very serious repercussions. Like, I don't know, taking some pot with you in a country where if someone as much as whiffs it, you get sentenced to life in prison. And these countries generally don't have nice prisons.

These guys' misfortune was a little less drastic than that, but we doubt they'll be laughing about it anytime soon either. They were on vacation in Greece on one of the country's most beautiful islands: Skiathos. That place has beautiful cities, gorgeous marinas and the kind of beaches you only see in commercials.

It also has an airfield which can take airplanes of almost any size. That means a Boeing 757 will have no trouble landing there, and since it's such a nice place, a lot of people do just that. Most of them also hire a car once they disembark, just to make sure they get to explore every last corner of the island.

But being on a small island also has its disadvantages. For one thing, land is at a premium, so you don't get the luxury of buffer zones between the airport's runway and nearby public roads. Or even parking areas. Still, there's a sign there that says "Danger, please keep away from aircraft blast." The authorities wrote that in Greek and also in English. Too bad a lot of French or Spanish tourists don't bother learning either of the two, right?

We have no idea what nationality the people driving in that blue minivan were, but they either ignored the warning, they didn't see, or they just did not understand what it said. Not that a huge plane warming up its engines should have been the universal message for "get the hell out of there." It's their problem they don't watch Top Gear, really.

That family had the hatch on their minivan open and the trunk facing the full blast of the airplane. The poor shocks and hinges did the best they could, but finally had to give up and allow the tailgate to flip over and hit the roof of the car. Not the best thing to happen on your holiday, especially not on an island where finding a replacement for the window might take a while.

That place is quickly building a reputation for it. It is the perfect location for plane spotters, but it's also a simple way of experiencing 160 mph winds right in your face. Just have a look at the other videos below.
