Renowned company AirHawk International is filing a lawsuit including multiple charges against the manufacturers of the “Wild Ass Motorcycle Cushion.”
Most of the well-established brands in any industry segment are quite keen to protect their intellectual property because everybody knows how things roll: at some point, someone will copy one or more products, manufacturing similar ones and trying to make it without getting caught.

It's now the case of AirHawk, who is trying to protect their iconic, patented saddle add-on against what they call “infringing knock-offs.” The product that triggered the legal action is the “Wild Ass Motorcycle Cushion,” a product that is made in China and which is falsely advertised as being as good as the original AirHawks saddle.

And with Complaint for Patent Infringement, False Advertising, Tortious Interference, and Unfair Competition filed in the United States District Court Central District Of California Southern Division, it looks like things are very serious.

The file targets various parties related to a product called “Wild Ass Motorcycle Cushion,” and includes “every person or entity in the chain of commerce can be liable for patent infringement, including but not limited to manufacturers, distributors, retailers, resellers, advertisers, marketers and consumers (end users),” AirHawk owner Don Mahoney adds.

Speaking about these products, Mahoney adds that it is unfair and undesirable that customers get “a product made in China when they can have a proven, quality product manufactured in Santa Ana, California for the same price,” MPN reveals.

AirHawk seats have been around for quite some time now and have an almost cult status. These seats consist of a specially-designed air bladder that riders can inflate according to their preference, and which provides weight and pressure across the entire motorcycle saddle.

The result is the elimination of the pressure points, the so-called “hot spots,” a significant reduction in vibration and heat build-up, thanks to the special design and cover that allow air to flow between the air bubbles.
