While we have got robot vacuum cleaners, tablet computers and voice control, the lifestyle seen in The Jetsons, a cartoon that first aired in the 1960s, is still a way off. Perhaps the part we miss the most is flying cars, always dreamed but never materialized.
Some have tried to make it real with airplane and helicopter technology, but that's not exactly what we're after. We want a completely silent and totally sleep flying saucer, but with the added style we expect from our automobiles.
Today, we bring you the work of Renaud Marion, a photographer who probably watched a lot of The Jetsons when he was young. His digital art creations, which we recently stumbled upon, place that wheelless design on top of iconic cars that everybody knows.
In the gallery below, you'll be able to find all the iconic Mercedes shapes, including the legendary 300 SL, the classic Ford Mustang, Jaguar E-Type Coupe and even the Lincoln Continental Coupe. The first thing all these floating design icons remind us of the original Citroen DS and how when it made its official debut debut at the Paris Motor Show back in 1955, it was presented as a wheelless, vertical rocket ship.
