AGV’s top-drawer Corsa helmets have recently been tested by Britain’s SHARP (Safety Helmet Assessment and Review Program) and received the highest score, earning 5 out of 5 stars.
The SHARP is only one of the increasingly numerous similar safety-focused organizations around the world whose aim is to provide motorcycle riding gear customers with a standardized evaluation ranking for various products. Just like its name suggests, the SHARP is only interested in testing helmets, but given the increased attention paid to testing and higher standards, it is often regarded as more relevant than DOT, ANSI, SNELL and other similar reference systems, which usually outline the minimum safety standards.
SHARP testing involves multiple impacts in the front and rear, top and both dies of the helmets, with accelerometers inside the helmet providing extensive data on the energy dissipation and absorption levels. Damage to the outer shell is also taken into account.
AGV Corsa helmets come with a special outer shell made from a composite of Aramid, fiber glass and carbon fiber, with dual-density EPS layers on the inside, removable and washable comfort liners and powerful ventilation for a comfortable wear in hot weather.
The anti-scratch, anti-fog visor is held in place by a metal Extra Quick Release System with roto-translation opening, with microlocking to prevent accidental opening at high speed, and complies with the Class 1 optical standard. Double D-ring fastening, and removable nose and chin guards are standard. The AGV Corsa is available in sizes XS through XXL.
