After Saving the Day in Avengers: Endgame, Jeremy Renner Starts Singing for Jeep

Jeremy Renner is one of those Californians gifted with more than one talent. The man made a mark on the movie industry starring in several high-profile movies, including Oscar-winning The Hurt Locker, but most of the world knows him as Hawkeye, or Ronin, from Marvel’s Avengers. But as of this week, Renner is also a full-fledged musician.

This side job for the actor is getting a major boost starting this week, after the launch of the Summer of Jeep marketing campaign devised by the American carmaker. On July 10, Jeep launched three marketing clips for the Grand Cherokee, Compass and Wrangler, all powered by brand new Renner singles.

The three Renner singles – Main Attraction, Nomad and Sign – seem to have been specifically written to go with a Jeep commercial. In fact, Renner is no stranger to linking his music to the auto industry. To rev up the end credits for 2018’s Tag comedy, Renner also did a cover of a Crash Test Dummies’ song.

Back to Jeep, the brand says it selected Renner to be the face and voice of the new campaign because the actor is more than an action-hero, he’s a “a true Renaissance man.”

“He is a true Renaissance man with talents that go well beyond acting, as he continues to show us with the introduction of his new music, which is authentic, honest rock n' roll, and aligns with the same spirit and philosophy of the Jeep brand,” said in a statement FCA’s chief marketing officer, Olivier Francois.

“Designed to celebrate a great American talent, this campaign is one of FCA’s biggest creative endeavors that is driven by a shared vision, passion and performance.”
