Here's a nice piece of news for those that are already thinking about the long winter days. The all-new African Motorcycle Diaries TV series and DVD (to follow), featuring adventure rider Spencer Conway and his amazing trip from the UK to the southernmost regions of Africa and all the way back.
The African Motorcycle Diaries tells a new story of boldness and determination, as Conway made the trip solo and unsupported. Even more, he traveled with a limited budget that caused him to sleep in his tent, in cockroach-ridden rooms, and eat whatever was available in the street.
At the same time, he was also all alone in dealing with the less-welcoming border patrols and bureaucracy in some of the 34 countries he visited during this adventure.
His trip took him from the UK, through France and reaching the shore of Tunisia, then riding towards south on the eastern coast of Africa. His return route trailed northwards on the western coast, through notoriously unstable countries.
After 283 days spent on the 55,000 km-long (34,182 miles) road, Spencer Conway is safely back home from the adventure of a lifetime, ready to share his amazing story, complete with camera diaries with the world.
African Motorcycle Diaries will premiere on Travel Channel in the UK on November 8th, 2015 at 7pm local time, followed by Europe, Middle East and, of course, Africa on November 9th, 2015 at 9pm. Those who want to add this adventure documentary to their collection can already pre-order the African Motorcycle Diaries DVD from Duke Video. Advpulse reports that broadcasters are already negotiating to have the documentary aired in the US, too.

Escaping almost fatal shootings in Kenya
From desert rides to the jungle, almost impassable mud tracks in Congo, sandstorms, and escaping from shootings in Kenya, Spencer Conway had to take care of himself by himself. Numerous crashes and extremely rough roads barred his route, but he and his Yamaha XT660Z Tenere finally made it through. His trip took him from the UK, through France and reaching the shore of Tunisia, then riding towards south on the eastern coast of Africa.
