Aerostitch announces the R-3, their third generation of Roadcrafter motorcycle suits, a rather rare presence in the touring gear segment, with its one-piece construction.
Riders who see one-piece textile suits may be a bit surprised, but believe me, there’s nothing wrong with your eyes. These suits combine the best features of both worlds, but with a noticeable more pronounced approach on the practical side of life.
The Aerostitch R-3 is unlined, but wind- and waterproof thanks to a special fabric. Aerostitch is using military-spec 500D Cordura Gore-Tex for manufacturing the new-gen Roadcrafter and claims it is the only civilian riding gear maker to do so. Extra padding is used at the elbows, sholders, seat and knees, with TF armor in all placed save the rear. Hip, spine and chest armor is optional.
Riders are said to benefit from better comfort while wearing the Aerostitch R-3, in terms of both fit and heat management. The suit comes with multiple vents and rare earth magnets to keep them open when riding in hot weather, for even more convenience.
More than 30 color options are available, with optional accessories such as Integrated Boot Raincovers, electrically heated and non-heated Chest Insulation Pads, an Emergency Medical Info Pocket, and detachable arm and thigh Map and Accessory Pockets available, too.
At $1,067 (€775) the Aerostitch R-3 is not exactly cheap, but it’s not a fortune, either, especially with the features and lighter feel it offers. For more info please check with Aerostitch.
