The Toyota GT 86, and its two other siblings were recently launched onto the world stage. Everybody loved the cars and appreciated the philosophy behind them, as we had been missing a good and relatively cheap RWD sports car which was actually fun to drive.
Everybody who has driven the car has said that it could use a little bit more power, as the car’s chassis can take considerably more, with ease. The recently unveiled Aero Kit, for the GT 86 does, however, hint at a more powerful version of the car, despite the fact that it is available now for the 200 hp standard car.
With its striking rear wing, aggressive front bumper and lower side skirts, it really looks the business. According to official information, the addition of all these ‘aero bits’ has not increased the car’s very slippery 0.27 drag coefficient, but it has given it more downforce - a good deal, you may think, but there’s always the price to factor in.
The kit was recently launched in Australia, where it retails for $3,000 AUD ($3,037 / €2,399) and is currently only available on the top-of-the-range model - other markets will follow shortly.
