Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Noah Levine is known to be a rather classic car enthusiast, but not even the famous people can fight the desire to drive the flagship of the current line-up of Porsche. The three Grammy Awards winner was recently seen driving a new Porsche 911 Turbo having his wife Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo along.
Adam Levine is the perfect example of people that decided they would never give up their passion no matter how low chances of success are. He co-founded alternative rock band Kara’s Flowers in 1994 but after the commercial failure of their only album, The Fourth World, the band split up. However, Levine later reformed the band and a fifth member was added to form Maroon 5. As part of the band, he has received three Grammy Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, two American Music Awards, an MTV Video Music Award and a World Music Award. You see, maybe it really is all about perseverance.
He has the fame, so of course he needs the cars that come with it. As opposed to his fellows from the music industry that usually ride with the latest luxury cars, it’s all about the classics with Moves like Jagger star. Well, at least it was like that until recently.
A couple of days ago paparazzi found him stranded in what turned out to be an embarrassing moment when he and his wife ran out of gas in their vintage 1950’s Mercedes-Benz 300 SL. The Voice judge also drives a classic 356 Porsche and a Ferrari 365 GTC.
Seeing him at the wheel of a new Porsche 911 makes us change our opinion towards this artist’s choices in cars. That doesn’t mean that the two-door, high performance sportscar is not one of the greatest beauties you can get on the market.
First of all, Porsche 911 is all about engineering solutions, several of them. From integral steering to active aerodynamics, as well as cheeky rear end, this baby has them all. The 911 Turbo makes even the wider Carrera 4 models look a bit skinny.
One of the car’s new features is the Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA), which means there is an active rear wing, that can be extended and angled according to the needs. The PAA also employs a just-as-active rubber skirt. Placed under the front bumper, this can be lowered in three stages, just like the rear spoiler. It all depends on the speed of the car, or on the driver’s preferences.
