As promised, Nissan’s new ad starring Maroon 5’s lead singer Adam Levine was aired during this Tuesday’s episode of “The Voice”. The pop artist is seen sitting in the passenger seat of a murdered-out Nissan GT-R as a professional driver takes the 545-horsepower beast for a trial. Funny part is that Levine is challenged to sing the band’s new single “Sugar” while at it.
Earlier this month we wrote about Nissan North America’s new partnership with Adam Levine. It is in fact an expansion of the automaker’s existing multi-season sponsorship of the “The Voice” TV show. New program elements include a series of on-air vignettes featuring Adam Levine and several season seven contestants in video segments.

As a coach on NBC’s Emmy Award winning “The Voice”, the pop artist showed viewers the clip during the November 18th episode of the show. Fans had the chance to hear the star singing a rendition of the band’s single “Sugar” off the new “V” album.

Levine is meeting some difficulties performing in the car while he finds himself in the middle of a unique driving experience. According to the company, the remaining vignettes featuring season seven artists and a variety of Nissan products will air on November 25 and December 2.

As to Nissan’s marketing venture, the company has been looking towards famous people for a while now. From sportsmen like Manchester City’s Yaya Toure or DJ’s like Deamdau5, the Japanese are trying to improve and expand their approach towards new customers.
