A week ago today we showed you a terrible crash that almost killed Pro Mod race Graham Ellis. Unfortunately, a similar incident happened last weekend during the AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals.
This time it was Swedish driver Adam Flamholc who wrecked his dragster, but, amazingly enough, he got off with only a broken arm and hand and was conscious as he was transported to the local hospital.
Flamholc was trying to improve his 6.01 @ 240.59 run when his supercharged 1968 Camaro lost traction and hit the guardrail head-on and barrel-rolled several times before coming to a halt, wheels up. Needless to say, the vehicle lost its entire bodywork, leaving only the roll cage to protect the driver.
Despite his injuries and wrecked Camaro, Flamholc said he is looking to return to NHRA racing less than 24 hours after the crash. What a sport!
