When Acura launched the interesting-looking ZDX, back in 2009, they were planning on it grabbing some X6 sales, as the BMW proved very successful. However, the Acura wasn’t at all successful, achieving very poor sales, managing to shift only 1,564 units in 2011, and just 416 in the first six months of 2012.
However, while the heads of the company may be aware of it being a complete sales flop, they will give it another shot, as they are refreshing the ZDX for 2013, as the official statements says: “The innovative and stylish Acura ZDX crossover vehicle, introduced in 2009, will receive numerous styling and technology enhancements for the 2013 model year, which will be the final year on the market for ZDX as the Acura brand sharpens its focus on new models and core products.

For the 2013 model-year, the ZDX gets a different grille, black wheel accents, front and rear parking sensors, power folding mirrors, and Forward Collision Warning and Lane Keep Assist. The car already has a lot of equipment, as standard, including a 435w audio system, with 10 speakers, which can store up to 15 GM of music on an internal hard-drive.

Acura is bringing the refreshed ZDX to showrooms as of October 19, with a starting price of $50,920, plus the $895 destination charge. We don’t really think these minor improvements and additions made to the car will make that much more appealing, and sales may only go up slightly - not enough to justify keeping it on the market, we say.
