A convertible four-door sedan is not the type of vehicle we get to see very often. Cadillac and Lincoln used to do such things back in the 1960s, but the present day four-door cabriolets are usually just aftermarket variants.
Back in April we we're showing you a Dodge Charger Super Bee convertible made by Drop Top Customs, which was pretty cool by our standards. Now, the guys over at Newport Convertible Engineering (NCE) took an Acura TL and chopped of its roof for a four-door convertible.
If you're looking to order one of these, NCE says the conversion takes about six weeks to complete and comes with a five-year warranty. The interior remains unchanged and the modifications won't alter trunk space. While the vehicle is depicted with a B-pillar, NCE says the Acura TL can be had without it as well.
We don't know about you, but we really like it, especially with those stripes. It's the kind of vehicle some automakers should think about putting into production. If you don't fancy Acura too much, NCE is also preparing convertible version for the Range Rover, Porsche Cayenne and Cadillac XTS.
