Acura decided to publish new details about the NSX Supercar, and the batch of fresh info confirms what rumors told us a few months ago.
First of all, the NSX will sit on Acura's multi-material space frame. Engineers took their time and reinforced this skeleton with high-strength steel and aluminum.

The combo was necessary for the car to maintain target weight while not neglecting overall stiffness. On a more safety-related front, the NSX features "ultra-rigid castings" strategically placed in the vehicle's crush zones.

Another important reveal - although pretty much expected around the NSX fan base - is the engine. According to Acura, the NSX will draw its energy from a 3.5-liter V6, but we don't get an official figure yet. However, a power output around 500 HP is expected, but please take that with a pinch of salt.

A suite of hybrid parts will make sure the engine is tuned for both increased performance and fuel efficiency. Again, it is believed that three electric motors will assist the V6.

Coming back to what we know, the 2016 Acura NSX will also be fitted with a Super Handling All-Wheel Drive System because increased performance demands a more efficient way to manage all those resources. By the way, there will be ten air-cooled heat exchangers keeping the powertrain's temperature under control.

In addition,  the V6 will have three radiators, coupled by two additional intercoolers placed in the side air intakes.

The 2016 Acura NSX is expected to wear a $150,000 sticker, but that didn't stop Jerry Seinfeld from ordering one on the spot in Detroit, where the upcoming hybrid supercar met the public for the first time.
