In today’s recall hit world, talking about a sportscar than can play well into the six-figure odometer zone without any major technical issues sounds like a sci-fi story. Well, things like this do actually happen, it’s just that we have to look into the past, not the future.
Case in point with the Acura NSX from the adjacent images. According to a friend of the owner, the thing has passed 388,888 miles (625,000 km) on the original engine and transmission. The NSX is known for its stellar reliability, but this example takes the game to a whole new level.

Don’t imagine that the usual consumables haven’t been cycled though. For instance, with an orthodox alignment, this sort of mileage will see you go though about 30 sets of tires on a NSX. And, as Ayrton Senna has taught us, you'll probably also go through quite a high number of driving shoe pairs.

You should know one thing though - the Acura NSX may be a ton of fun and super dependable, but owning such a car is like a one-way street. You’ll most likely be sorry if you decided to turn back. At least this is what it happened to the current owner of the car.

The man bought the NSX, a 1991 model, from its first owner, a doctor who commuted over 100 miles per day and nicely took the sportscar past the 300,000 mile mark. As you’ve already figured out, the vehicle didn’t exactly show its age, so the guy enjoyed it.

Nevertheless, earlier this year, he sold the NSX to a shop owner for 16 grand. The Acura was treated with a supercharger, as well as a ton of track time mods, from brakes to a lowered suspension.

The driver was missing his NSX, so he struck a deal to buy it back. You can see the new form of the car below and it's not exactly what we'd call a daily driver.

Never sell a NSX...
