The wait is finally over: Honda has revealed the NSX Concept at this year’s edition of the North American International Auto Show. However, this is just a concept that previews the production model, which will arrive in the nest three years.
The NSX concept seems to be borrowed from Tony Stark, as it perfectly resembles the Acura of the main character from The Avengers. As for the production model, this is set to be developed by Honda R&D Americas and be built in Ohio, with the rest of the markets importing the vehicle.

We are talking about a setup that includes a mid-engined chassis powered by a V6 unit, which is integrated in a hybrid powertrain, with the power being sent to the road via Honda’s Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All Wheel Drive). The vehicle will also be very light, as Honda plans to make extensive use of special materials.

The automotive producer didn’t offer any specs, only saying that it is willing to “express high performance through engineering efficiency”. However, unofficial reports indicate that the hybrid powertrain will be comprised of a direct-injected VTEC V6 engine, 2 Electric Motor Drive Units, as well as a dual clutch transmission that uses an integrated electric motor.

The NSX aims to mix supercar-rivaling performance with a high level of efficiency and if we also add the vehicle’s cult status, we are looking at a vehicle that has all the chances to become a major hit.
