The latest Mercedes-Benz Actros is off to a very good start in most market places, with Ireland being the latest country in which the top of the range truck is receiving praises from both the media and fans alike.
Readers of the Irish magazine “Fleet Transport”, truck drivers and owners, Facebook and Twitter social media users along with visitors to the “Mondello Truck Show” were able to vote their favorites among the last ten winners of the Irish “Truck of the Year” award, with the Mercedes-Benz Actros receiving the top spot.
“This victory is a further tremendous accolade for the already multiple award-winning Mercedes-Benz Actros”, commented Jarlath Sweeney, publisher of Fleet Transport magazine, after the presentation of the award. “With the aerodynamic design of its cab, its outstanding driving characteristics, its handling and comfort, the new Actros sets a fresh benchmark. A worthy winner of the Irish 'Truck of the Decade' award.”
With over 800,000 units sold since the first generation was introduced back in 1996, the Mercedes-Benz Actros is by far the most successful heavy-duty truck on the planet. Its current generation is also a market-leader in Europe, with a share of 21 percent.
