Actor Freeman Sued over Car Accident, Suspected of DUI

After revealing that she was not his mistress, the woman who was on the passenger seat when Morgan Freeman crashed his car in August last year is now suing the 71-year-old actor.

According to the BBC, Demaris Meyer, who was injured in the crash, is now taking Freeman to court for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, permanent disability (short term memory loss) and property damage. That's quite a lot, we would say, but the woman claims the terrible accident "changed her life" as she is still suffering both "physically and emotionally".

"I sustained numerous injuries. I was unconscious following the accident. I could not take care of myself for several months," Meyer said. As a result of the accident, she has not been "able to go back to work" so far.

Although the lawsuit has already been filed, we have no details about the sum of money Meyer is expecting get from Freeman provided that she wins the trial. With the lawsuit, Meyer has also made public details about the night of the crash. The woman who claims she has never been Freeman's mistress said that the actor has been drinking quite a lot in the night of the accident.

According to her testimony, she met the actor at dinner the night of the crash where she claims she had a few drinks. After that, they both went to a friend's home where Freeman had "at least one more drink". Afterwards, the actor invited the woman at his home for the night, saying that she wouldn't only have her own bedroom but "her own house" as well. She agreed to spend the night in Freeman's house but, unfortunately, the Oscar-winning actor lost control of his car on the way home and "ran off of the right side of the highway."Following the crash, both Meyer and Freeman were injured.

Now, we can not know for sure what exactly was going on between Freeman and Meyer that night despite her testimony that they were "just friends". We refuse to comment on their "relationship", but we cannot refrain from saying that the charge is rather ridiculous. Mrs Meyer knew from the very beginning that Freeman has been drinking that night (in case her testimony is true). Then, why did she allow Freeman to drive her to his home that night? If she had been more responsible than him, she could have just said "No". But since she didn't, we don't think she's entitled to make such charges...
