Acer Ferrari 1200 Notebook Brings You in Pole Position

Since we're sure the 22-inch Acer limited-edition Ferrari monitor unveiled by the Taiwanese hardware manufacturer last October wasn't enough, here's another goody for Scuderia fans: the Acer Ferrari 1200, a whole new notebook series that incorporates several exclusive features plus advanced hardware resources.

First of all, let's see those exclusive features we were talking about. The notebook comes with a carbon-fiber cover plus an anodized-metal touchpad aiming to bring you the same feel as a Ferrari brake and acceleration pedals, as Acer said in a statement. Ventilation is obviously fairly important for a laptop so creating a special system imitating a Ferrari exhaust pipe was probably the best idea for such a product. Let's just hope the pipes are not exposed to upset McLaren fans.

Now let's see what this laptop is up to. Well, a 12.1 CrystalBrite LCD with LED backlight should be enough for you day-by-day activities (count here checking emails, browsing the web or instant messaging). In terms of performance, the notebooks incorporate the powerful AMD Turion X2 Ultra dual-core processors with up to 4 GB of dual-channel DDR2 RAM memory. S-ATA hard disks are also included, but there's no word on the storage capacity.

Speaking of peripherals, the new laptop series come with Bluetooth wireless mouse and optional Xpress VoIP phone. Other highlights include 802.11 based network support, webcam and fingerprint support.

And in case you were wondering, yes, all laptops come with one of the many flavors of Windows Vista, such as Business, Home Premium or Ultimate. Additional software include Adobe Reader, Corel WinDVD, McAfee Internet Security, Microsoft Office Ready 2007 and Acer Launch Manager. There are no pricing details available for the time being.
