AC Schnitzer’s BMW X6 M Has 650 HP

When BMW launched the new X5 M and X6 M models, it turned them into the most powerful production cars ever to roll out of their plants, without being limited in numbers.

Of course, we didn’t forget about the BMW M5 30th Anniversary edition that has 600 HP, but that’s only available in a limited number (300 units worldwide) and it’s down on torque. To be more precise, the new S63 engine on the X5 M and X6 M models has 575 HP and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque, numbers that make them blazing fast SUVs.

At the same time, the M5 is down on torque by 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) and yet we’re not disappointed one bit. However, as powerful as the SUVs might seem, there’s still room for improvement.

Some tuners will surely get ridiculous amounts of power out of the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 under the hood, but those with tradition in the field will be more conservative. It’s the case of AC Schnitzer, which has recently revealed the fact that their X6 M tuning kit can take the power output up to 650 HP. There’s no mention of the torque figures, but we’re guessing some 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) could be on the table.

The best part about going to ACS is that you also get warranty for your purchase that covers you for two years of 60,000 km (37,250 miles) in the case of M models. For any other type of car, that figure goes up to 100,000 km (62,000 miles).

The problem with tuning your engine is that not everyone knows it and AC Schnitzer has a solution to that problem - an exterior tuning kit, to be more precise, along with a new exhaust. The last bit can be had with either Sports Black, chromed ‘Sports’ or two ‘Carbon Evo’ tailpipes, depending on your choice.

A suspension upgrade is also possible with a new set of springs offered by the Aachen-based manufacturer that lower the car’s ride height by 30 mm. Pricing hasn’t been released for the moment.
