AC Schnitzer ACS5 Sport S Coming to Geneva

The tuning section of the Geneva Auto Show will have plenty to offer, demonstrating that the aftermarket world has evolved a lot and is now able to offer something for everyone. It is now time to see what AC Schnitzer will greet Geneva visitors with.

The company is previewing two new projects, which showcase special goodies from the tuner’s range. The first is an extreme version of the BMW 5 Series, dubbed ACS Sport S and the second is an eco-focused BMW Z4.

You know us, we’ll only want to talk about the first. The project is based on the BMW 550i and offers an interesting approach. Let us explain. The tuning company has fitted the vehicle with mild exterior modifications and has enjoyed playing with the tech side.

This means that, when you see the vehicle, you know that you are not dealing with your average 5 Series, However, it is unlikely for you to suspect that you are dealing with a four-wheeled creation that delivers 540 hp and a peak torque of 750 Nm. This allows the saloon to reach a top speed of 200 mph (320 km/h) and deal with the 0 to 62 sprint in 4.5 seconds. The vehicle should also deliver top performance through the corners, as it has been fitted with a limited slip differential.

Ok, we’ll also present you the three-hugging Z4 (it's an oil-burner), but we’ll do that later in the day.

autoevolution will be attending the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
