Legendary security company Abus debuts the Granit Power XS 67 12 KS120 Black Walk anti-theft system, a truly nice piece of gear with a dual function.
Many riders agree it's better to lose your bike in a very bad crash than have it stolen. Well, that is in case a crash which destroys ones bike can be categorized as being "good"... The new Abus system however is a very nifty dual-mode anti-theft device which should beep your bike safe.
The Abus Granit Power XS 67 12 KS120 Black Walk comes with a 12 square mm chain in a silicon sleeve which will protect paint and bike parts it comes in contact with it, and a tempered steel ring at the end to create a loop around a pole or other fixing object.
At the other end of the chain we'll find a 14mm padlock which attaches to one of the the brake rotors, thus becoming yet another obstacle which must be overcome by the thieves. The lock can be used alone for shorter stops and this adds to the convenience factor of the system. It also sports the X-plus cylinder, with enhanced protection against picking. The keys also have a small LED light for easier operation in dim light conditions.
