Remember that Formula E car brought to Geneva? It came from German aftermarket developer ABT, which also has some street metal to showcase at the event. We’re referring to the Golf VII GTI Dark Edition.
We’ll remind you that the Golf GTI Dark Edition actually made its debut at the Essen Motor Show last year, but ABT enjoys its creation so much that they also showcased it in Geneva.
In fact, this GTI is not exactly all Black, mixing the hue with a set of Red accents, which are used throughout its hatchback body. Speaking of this, ABT’s Golf GTI features custom parts including the front apron, side skirts, hatch ornament, as well as a rear bumper add-on element that includes a diffuser. In addition, the exhaust system now has four tips, which, of course, come in a dark finish.
The connection to the road is established via an ABT height-adjustable suspension, as well as a set of CR wheels. The rims feature a five-double-spoke design, come in a 20-inch size and are shod in 235/30 performance rubber.
In the power department, the Golf GTI’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine was pushed to 300 hp. Thus, the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint takes a brief 5.8 seconds, while the top speed sits at 258 km/h (160 mph).
