Volkswagen's new Golf R which made its debut last year packs 300 horsepower, making it the fastest Golf ever put into production. But, if you compare it to something like the A45 AMG, it's not even in the same league.
VW fans will not stand for their, so German tuner ABT Sportsline has sprung into action, creating an impressive power pack and body kit for the car. Both will be officially revealed about two weeks from now at the Geneva Motor Show, but preview images and initial details have been revealed.
From 300 PS and 380 Nm of torque, the Golf R's 2.0 TFSI has been pushed to 370 PS and 460 Nm of torque. The tuners say that's enough to go 0 to 100km/h in 4.5 seconds, probably with the DSG gearbox.
Let's name a few cars that this is now faster than: Porsche 911 Carrera (4.8 seconds), Audi R8 (4.6 seconds) and even the Aston Martin V8 Vantage.
A series of cosmetic changes have also been made and include new alloy wheels, a boot spoiler, chin spoiler, rear diffuser, front grille, headlight eyelashes and tinted taillights.
