Joining the Polo R WRC on ABT Sportsline's Essen Motor Show stand this year will be a Golf GTI project car.
It's called the Dark Edition VS4 and it's based on the seventh generation Golf GTI with the Performance Package. ABT took the 230 PS, 350 NM engine and boosted it to 300 PS. This isn't really news stuff, it's just their Stage II package for the car. Still, we can't help but be impressed with 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds.
But the GTI Black Edition's saving grace is the whole package, with 20-inch ABT turbine-style wheels wrapped in 235/30 R20 high-performance tires, new skirts and flares and a four-piece exhaust system similar in style to the Golf R.
Really, if you want a Golf R with front-wheel drive, this is basically it.
