ABT Sportsline Unveils Customization Program for Audi Q3

Until Audi brings out a sportier version of the smallest Q model yet, giving the little crossover speedy credentials it doesn’t deserve, the tuners at ABT Sportsline have gotten to work and created a whole new look for the Q3, giving interested customers the chance to have a power boost from any of the diesel or petrol variants.

We'll start with the engine upgrades, and try to keep the info simple and clear. As you might already know, the Q3 only comes with 2.0-liter forced induction engines, in both diesel and petrol forms. Starting with the least powerful of the bunch, ABT has tweaked the 140 hp TDI to produce 170 horsepower, while the 177 hp variant of the same unit now produces about the same amount as the previous generation Golf GTI - 195 horsepower.

On the petrol front, the 2.0-liter TSI that put out 170 hp in stock form now gets 210 hp, while Audi’s best impression of a fast Q3, the 211 hp mode, has been boosted to 250 horsepower.

“Regardless of which engine is chosen, the customer always receives a vehicle which combines maximum driving fun with everyday usability and reliability. The fact that handling and optics do not have to suffer due to the car’s diversity is proved emphatically by the SUV of ABT,”
the Tuner says.

From a cosmetic point of view, ABT can fit your little crossover with everything your heart desires: new front grille, front skirt, door strip attachments, rear skirt set with four exhaust inserts and a rear wing. ABT CR and DR designer light alloy wheels in 18 to 20 inch can be fitted, and the German tuner can also provide you with the wheel+tire combo.

“The Q3 is an extremely athletic yet very elegant vehicle. It combines the powerful aesthetics of a robust car with the shape of a cool coupe,” explains Hans-Jurgen Abt, the CEO of ABT Sportsline, the world’s largest tuner of vehicles from the VW Group. “In its class the Q3 is something special. For our designers it provides the perfect working basis, as it is both classy and dynamic.”
