The Audi Q5 is about to be replaced by an all-new model and so should the SQ5. However, German tuner ABT Sportsline just couldn't help but play with it one more time. The result is 380 PS from the famous 3.0 BiTDI.
If we're honest, you'd have to be crazy to buy an SQ5 today because the replacement is sure to have the electric supercharger from the SQ7. That means almost instant power and torque.

But 380 PS has a certain ring to it, especially since it's slightly more than the BMW M2. In a recent track battle, the Porsche Macan Turbo managed to get pretty close to the Bavarian bespoke super-coupe, so we wonder what the diesel dinosaur can do.

The original SQ5 made 313 PS and had been “ABTed up” to 360 hp (265 kW), torque from 650 Nm to 700 Nm. That standard output has risen to 326 PS, forcing ABT to push for 365 PS upgrades.

If that's still not enough, you could start with the expensive but capable SQ5 performance and have it tuned to 380 PS and 780 Nm. The list of supercars with less torque is very long and even includes Audi's R8.

Sadly, we have to admit that this isn't the most powerful SQ5 project, as we remember that in 2013 MTM made history with its 400 PS + 800 Nm monster. At that time, this particular autoevolution editor reminded you guys of the early 1.9 TDI Passats and how they were perfectly adequate with just 100 ponies.

But that's not all that ABT has done to the first S-branded Audi SUV. They also offer the height adjustable suspension springs to lower the CoG by 5 – 30 mm on the front axle and 10 – 35 mm on the rear. The usual body accessories accompany it: front skirt, front grille, door strip attachments, fender extensions and a rear wing.

The exhaust has active valves, of course, and you can choose from Sportsline CR, DR, ER-C and FR, available in various dimensions and with premium high-performance tires. Which design you pick in 20, 21 or even 22’’ is up to the customer.
