Ever wondered where some of those incredibly good on-line deals come from? This piece of news is a potential answer. Ten Fiat employees from the company’s Mirafiori plant in Italy are currently being investigated for stealing parts and selling them online, with the total loss for the company being estimated to over EUR1 million ($1.37 million), as Torino Repubblica writes.
It seems that the employees were taking optimized Abarth ECUs home and selling them online. The goodies had an official price of EUR1,500 ($2,060), with the “team” allegedly offering them for as little as EUR300($410).
The whole thing was discovered when multiple dealers complained that they weren’t receiving the required parts, but the details of the investigation are limited so far.
