Abarth 500 GULF Limited Edition Unveiled

The Luxembourg division of the Gulf Oil Company, together with Autopolis, Abarth’s official distributor there, have recently taken the wraps off a very limited edition of the Abarth 500. Dubbed Abarth 500 GULF, the special series was developed to mark the tenth anniversary of the oil company’s activities in Luxembourg.

“We wanted to create a link between the Gulf and the car we give away. With GULF having a rich history in racing, with which the company’s brand image has always connected, we want to give away a car that is consistent with that brand image,” stated Marc Reiff, director of GULF Luxembourg.

“Our choice soon fell on a small car, commissioned from Autopolis: the Abarth 500, whose sporty and original image perfectly meets our expectations,” added Reiff.

In order to offer an original feel to the car, both partners agreed to adorn the Abarth in GULF colors. This means the cars will sport the same blue and orange color scheme complete with Gulf logos that has adorned countless racing cars over the years – including the contemporary Aston Martin Le Mans Prototype.

With 160 horsepower under the hood, this special edition Abarth 500, exclusive for Luxembourg, also comes with a Record Monza exhaust, Corse-Sabelt seats (with backs in Gulf-blue), as well as with a limited edition plate.

We said this is a very limited edition, as there will be only 10 units of the Abarth 500 GULF produced, which makes it event more exclusive than the Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari. Pricing for the edition was set at around EUR25,000 (about US$34,300 at the current exchange rate).
