Thanks to the most powerful 2-liter engine on the block, Mercedes' baby AMG is still at the top of its game, single-handedly taking on some pretty special sportscars with pedigree. However, that doesn't mean we'd mind extra punch.
Enter tuning company Posaidon, who despite its name doesn't like Maseratis very much. They're basically parts suppliers for things like exhaust manifolds and brakes, targeting everything from the C53 to the SLS supercar. This being their first A45 project, we're rather impressed with Posaidon's work, which targets the A 45 AMG with similar potential for the CLA and GLA twins.
As is usually the case with turbo engine products, three stages are being offered. Remember, the stock output of the M133 is 360 hp and 450 Nm (330 lb-ft) of torque for 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and a limited top speed of 250 km/h. Posaidon's first kit takes baby steps, offering 385 hp and 485 Nm (357 lb-ft) of torque. Stage 2 is a bit more impressive, increasing the output to 405 hp and 490 Nm (361 lb-ft) of torque.
Finally, the final blow to sportscars everywhere comes in the form of a 445 hp kit with 535 Nm of torque (394 lb-ft). That, in a car weighing just over 1,555kg and fitted with all-wheel drive, is a recipe for a grandmaster.
