There has never been an AMG model quite like the A45. It's a small 5-door hatchback powered by a 2-liter turbo that sends 360 horsepower to all four wheels. Frankly, this car has more in common with the Volkswagen Golf R than an SLS AMG or S65 AMG.
A special car deserves a special makeover and today the A45 got that from a Russian wrap specialist called DC Tuning, which has nothing to do with the District of Columbia or the comicbook people who own Batman.
DC Tuning's take on urban chic is as rugged as shaving your face with a knife or killing the enemy with your hands. That's right, they chose an army theme. Are they going to invade poland with A45 AMGs? More like invade the supermarket or the shopping mall.
This play toy for Russia's wealthy is dressed in forest greens, browns and blacks. The visual effect is the exact opposite of what camouflage should do, because it now stands out like a sore urban thumb.
As if that wasn't enough, this isn't a normal A45 AMG. It's either the Edition 1 or a model equipped with a track pack, because carbon fiber wings on the front bumper and a bigger rear spoiler are in place. Either way, we're still dealing with the fastest hot hatch on the market. Helped by a quick seven-speed dual clutch transmission with a launch control function and an AMG-tuned 4Matic all-wheel drive system, the baby AMG model can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standing start in just 4.6 seconds and go on to an electronically-limited tops speed of 250 km/h (155mph).
