A Winter Ride Ends with a KTM and Its Rider Bathing in Icy Water – Video

Riding in the winter is truly glorious, for several reasons. First of all, it’s the obvious joy of the ride itself and not being forced to part from one’s bike for good until the weather is once more nice, warm and clear. On the second place we could have the very good exercise a rider gets on snow. People who are accustomed to riding their bikes on snow, with or without spiked tires are doing better on their off-road outings, simply because the snow offers a very good training and comes with even more adrenaline than mud.

Of course, third on our list should come the fact that one is riding while others are longing for the spring. It’s really rewarding to be able to provide a different answer when being asked “what have you done during the weekend”. Instead of “hanging out with the family or having a beer with friends in a pub”, throwing in “I’ve had a great time outdoors riding my KTM in the snow” scores all the points.

That is, if you can make is safely home before you freeze to death after falling into a creek. And if you have some friends to help you prevent the water from swallowing the bike entirely, things are even better. Because, you know, not all the winter outings are free from dangers, and if you’re riding in an area with streams and ponds, sliding off the bike and falling into snow is the least of your worries.

Luckily, this fellow has people nearby and they helped both him and his bike out of the water. Off-roading alone was never a smart idea…
