Volkswagen Owner Gets a Creepy Letter from Creepy Neighbors That’s Creeping Us Out

Letter to VW owner 1 photo

Back when the Dieselgate started, we knew some Volkswagen owners would feel the wrath of overly-righteous people first-handedly, and this letter proves it, even though it comes pretty late. And it has nothing to do with the car’s engine.
The inhabitants of Castle Gardens who sign this letter - assuming this wasn’t just one man’s idea who decided to speak on everyone’s behalf - are upset with the fact that one of their neighbors is driving a German car. Or, rather, they’re upset he’s bought a second one. The fact that it’s a Volkswagen is just a coincidence.

Or is it? You see, the creepy neighbors accuse the man (reddit user Donger69) of buying - and please forgive me for saying this - a “Nazi” car. Well, somebody should tell those guys that the war is over, we’ve won, the Nazis are gone, and Germany is actually a very nice country with very nice and friendly people. As opposed to some parts of America, apparently, where a lot of ignorant and xenophobic people like to write letters to perfectly decent citizens who happen to like foreign cars.

Buying and thus supporting local car brands is great, flaming people for not doing the same is just wrong. And when you do it with the help of ignorant references and a condescending tone like this letter does, then you’re not helping your cause in any way.

So, the creepy neighbors accuse the VW owner of driving “Hitler junk,” and signs off with the “Ford employees and enthusiasts.” OK, we all know who Ferdinand Porsche was and what he did during WWII, but let’s focus a little on Henry Ford for a change. He was a notorious Jew-hater who did business with Nazi Germany until the moment the U.S. joined the war (which he opposed), even though, as opposed to Porsche, he actually had a choice. Not that all this matters to normal folks, but we’re trying to explain things so that the creepy neighbors will understand.

So, dear creepy neighbors, next time you feel so upset about another person’s choices that don’t really affect you in any way, if you really can’t hold it in and avoid being a bunch of douches altogether, at least do some research so you don’t make even greater fools of yourselves.

Signed,

All the people who love America for its diversity and tolerance and enjoy a good car regardless of where it was built.

Here is the entire message of the letter, in case the image is hard to read:

Dear lowly VW owner:

Das crappy cars!

You should be embarrassed to own those ugly things! Look around these streets and see what we drive - we work for, buy, and support American car companies in this neighborhood, son...

Maybe next time you should buy vehicles from a respectable American company, not your Hitler Junk, Das Dork Weenie! But you keep buying them and blow drying them off with your shop vac- in the mean time we your neighbors will

BUY American!

Signed,

Castle Gardens Ford employees and enthusiasts
