One month ahead of the 2014 Dakar, the motorcycling community is still mourning the passing of Kurt Caselli, KTM factory rider who died in the 2013 Baja 1000 rally last month.
Caselli, 30, had recently signed a 3-year deal with KTM as a full factory rider, after successfully replacing Marc Coma in the 2012 Dakar, and had also proposed to his fiancee Sarah White three months prior to the accident.

Evidence gathered from the wrecks of his bike suggest that Caselli crashed after an impact with an animal during the Baja 1000 rally.

The possibility of him having crashed because one of the boobie traps locals often set up during the Baja rallies was eliminated after KTM recovered his motorcycle.

Ride in peace, Kurt!
