The designer of this electric trike, Simon Williams, is an Australian inventor who, in the interest of research, worked as a postman for 18 months so that he could properly understand the needs of a postman.
After compiling his research, he decided that such a vehicle needed no gears, or complicated engines or nasty smells, usually associated with conventionally powered trikes. The prototype, which currently weighs 120kg is powered by two 3.5hp engines, each located in the hub of each rear wheel.
No word on production, however, if this much research has gone into making something which frankly looks very simple and straightforward, it should genuinely be adopted by the country’s postal service to ease postmens’ burdens of carrying bags full of envelopes. It also has seating for two!
