One incredibly lucky guy from the States is currently selling a BMW E30 M3 Convertible along with a BMW E93 M3 Convertible. In case you didn’t realize it yet, he has one of the first and the last cars that ever wore the M3 badge and were drop tops.

As history tells us, after BMW introduced the E30 M3 in Coupe guise, a convertible was considered as a viable alternative as well. Therefore, the engineers were given the task to take the roof off and put the car in production.

Said and done! Nothing changed technically compared to the Coupe and the same engines, gearboxes and tidbits were used but the difference is in desirability. You see, only 768 of these beauties were ever made and none were officially imported into the US back in the day, due to bureaucratic reasons.

Fast forward over 20 years and we find ourselves looking at the last car in production at BMW’s plants, still using a naturally aspirated engine. Care to guess which one it was? That’s right, the M3 Convertible.

This car is iconic for a number of reasons. First of all, as we said, it was the last of the Mohicans, the last model to use an atmospheric plant under the bonnet. And what a mill that was. BMW picked this carefully and the S65 was the perfect choice to go out with a bang.

It’s also the last time the M3 Convertible name was ever used, being replaced by the brand new M4 Convertible not too long after. Therefore, the M3 name in collaboration with any other word but ‘Sedan’ was last used for the E93. A dynasty has come to an end…

This guy has one of both. And he’s selling them for $110,000 on eBay. The ad clearly says that this is a package deal so don’t waste your time trying to get only one of them. If you ask us, due to the potential of becoming collectables, it’s worth making an investment.
