A Nod to the Simplicity of EVs

The electric motor is far more simple and reliable than its internal combustion counterpart - though, they are so different, they shouldn’t even be placed in the same sentence.
Nowadays, conventionally-powered engines are having to meet very strict emissions regulations which are forcing manufacturers to add all sorts of new technologies to keep everything legal (first of which were fuel injection and the catalytic converter).

Electric motors are exactly the same as they were when first used to power automobiles, more than 100 years ago. This very basic EV, made in China (probably powred by a vacum cleaner motor), using just a plastic chair, two car batteries and a very basic steel frame is proof that EVs are extremely simple in their design and are much simpler to manufacture.

While this may not look like much, we really appreciate it and its creator. We hope he moves on to bigger and better things, because for a very basic first try, this is actually OK.
