MotoGP and video game fans have yet another reason to be happy as a new GP-themed title is in the making. CORE Gaming and Dorna Sports signed a contract for a new video game that promises to introduce the newest technologies.
CORE Gaming will team up with land-based solutions provider Storm Gaming Technology (SGT) and will employ the HTML5 framework and WebGL 3D browser technology for the new game. The new 3D technology was already showcased through the Virtual Sports deal with Sky Vegas.

The details on the upcoming title are still scarce, as CORE Gaming is still secretive as to what the new game will be like. What is known is that the new title will include all the top riders in the premier class and will be available to tens of millions of MotoGP fans across the globe.

A cross-platform game that people will be able to play on almost any device

Most likely, the new MotoGP video game will be available for pretty much any type of device, including smartphones, touch iPods, tablets, as well as laptop and desktop computers via browser interfaces.

This will expand dramatically the access to the world of MotoGP virtual racing for pretty much anyone, hence the "tens of millions" CORE Gaming is referring to. Pau Serracanta, Managing Director of Dorna’s Commercial Area, adds, "Reaching this agreement with Core Gaming is an important step into the world of online gambling, with its virtual sports game giving users the chance to enjoy MotoGP on a whole new level, immersing them even further into the sport they love."

It is not clear yet what will happen with the Italian games house Milestone and their long-standing relationship with the MotoGP. So far, the latest news we have from Milestone refers to the upcoming title Valentino Rossi The Game, and a most promising one, too.
