A New Google Maps Feature Is On Its Way to Show More Business Hours Info

One of the most useful features of Google Maps allows us to figure out when a specific business is open every day, and it’s all thanks to information that owners themselves can submit to the company.
So technically, the most accurate information is submitted by the business owners themselves, which can connect to the My Business portal to provide it for each day of the week.

More recently, however, Google has silently added more options that provide owners with even more controls over the business hours that they can show on Google and Google Maps.

As spotted by SearchEngineLand, Google now allows business owners to provide additional information that’s better tailored for each business type. For example, owners can share happy hours, takeout, senior hours, pickups, and drive-through information in the same screen.

What this means for Google Maps users is that when searching for more information for a specific location, they are provided with extra information that could better fit their needs.

In the case of restaurants, for example, delivery and takeout hours could be different than the standard hours, so users could get all these details without the need for reaching out to the business, all by simply searching on Google Maps.

It’ll obviously take some time until all business owners update the information with more hours, but once this happens, Google Maps will make it a lot easier to figure out when specific services are available for each business. And of course, the update comes at a time when businesses such as restaurants focus more on takeout, drive-through, and pickup services, especially due to all the restrictions that have been put in place to deal with the global health crisis.

Needless to say, all the information will be available in Google Search as well, but also in all versions of Google Maps, including on the desktop and mobile.
