A Guide to Ultimate Luxury: The Mercedes-Maybach GLS Interior

The standard GLS offers enough room, comfort, and quality to live up to the Mercedes name but for those who are not satisfied with what it has to offer, there is another option. Add the Maybach name to the car and the ultra-luxurious benefits that come with it are guaranteed to satisfy even the most demanding customers.

The third-generation full-size luxury SUV began production last year and it has been developed as the S-Class of SUVs, offering a wide range of luxury equipment.

Just like it did with the S-Class, Mercedes-Benz did not stop there and made an even more lavish version of the SUV, the Mercedes-Maybach GLS.

It is built with a high emphasis on style and luxury, offering the ultimate level of grandeur conceivable to cater to those who wish to travel in style and utmost comfort.

Whether you choose to drive yourself or be chauffeured, the first thing you will encounter when entering a Maybach GLS is the electronically retractable running board that acts as a step ladder and, along with the air suspension, which lowers the car electronically, will help you access the otherwise tall SUV with little effort.

Although the GLS in Maybach's clothing is a gorgeous car on the outside, the impact the interior makes when you first see and feel it is unparalleled.

Even if you are used to premium, luxurious things, you will find it hard not to be impressed with the level of quality and craftsmanship of every single detail of the interior.

The nappa leather-lined dashboard has a free-floating feel to it, the size is exactly right, and it oozes elegance, yet it is discrete, proving that less is more by only incorporating one screen that is split in half.

One half sits behind the steering wheel and displays the gauges and other driver-relevant information that can be customized, while the other half extends to the center of the dash and is used to control the MBUX infotainment system.

The steering wheel, which also features a nappa leather rim that matches the rest of the upholstery, has control arrays with touch buttons on both left and right spokes.

There is also a touchpad on the center console that allows the driver to easily access the infotainment system. The prominent, raised console creates a powerful contrast with the dashboard as it extends to the back, splitting the rear seats.

The comfort provided by the seats is incredible and is comparable to what we see in the latest private jets rather than in normal vehicles.

The multicontour front seats can adapt to people of any stature, the thigh support, and seat cushions, as well as the backrest, are electronically adjustable and the latter features four-way lumbar support.

Even the head restraints and the steering column are electrically adjustable, and an available memory function can save the seat settings along with the position of the mirrors.

There are two options available for the rear, two or three-seat layouts, but the highlight is the first option as it increases comfort and adds to the exclusivity of the Maybach GLS.

The two rear seats share much of the technologies available in the front while also taking advantage of the available space by being able to recline by up to 43.5° and feature generous calf supports and wide backrests. This makes long journeys extremely comfortable and offers enough space to turn the back of your Maybach into the ideal office.

Two individually controllable screens are also available in the back, attached to the front seats, and connected to the infotainment system. Passages can also individually synchronize their devices to one of these screens.

To increase comfort, the seats can also give you a massage as they incorporate ten pressure points in the backrest. There are also climatized and work innovatively, combining hot and cool air to avoid the unpleasant effect of excessive heat transfer to the body.

The seats also feature inflatable active cushions in the seat backrest bolsters for additional lateral support when cornering and Mercedes’ so-called ENERGIZING seat kinetics function, which makes periodic adjustments to seating possession to increase comfort on long journeys.

If you can afford a private jet but you want to avoid flying, the Mercedes-Maybach GLS is the perfect replacement and is far less expensive, with prices starting from $161,550.

It features one of the most luxurious and comfortable interiors out there, it is extremely well soundproofed and offers all the conveniences you would find in a CEO’s office.
