With two world premieres, three European premieres and a ground-breaking service brand that will take the world by storm in a couple of months, this year's Geneva Motor Show is a pretty full venue for Mercedes-Benz.
The world premiere which took center stage is naturally the S-Class Coupe (C217), which replaces the CL-Class and brings back a nameplate that was only used by Mercedes-Benz between 1994 and 1996.

“The new S-Class Coupé stands at the very pinnacle of our product portfolio and is a further milestone in our luxury-class offensive with a total of six models in future instead of three. This car drives as good as it looks - and that’s no mean feat, because we’re talking here about the most beautiful S-Class of all time.” said Dieter Zetsche behind his magnificent mustache at the model's unveil.

Being at the top of the Mercedes-Benz model range, the new model also introduces a number of technological premieres, with the active curve tilting function of the Magic Body Control system being probably the most impressive.

As some of you know, it allows the car to actually lean into a curve just like a motorcycle rider or a skier, thus reducing from the lateral acceleration that is experienced by its passengers during hard cornering.

The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe (C217) also premieres a full color head-up display system and an all new touchpad, while the optional Swarovski-embedded headlights already made headlines when the car was unveiled last month.

The second all-new Mercedes-Benz model to celebrate its premiere at Geneva is, of course, the V-Class luxury MPV.

Now at its second generation, or third if we are also including the Viano – which was also sold in some countries as the V-Class – the new model was initially unveiled right in BMW's backyard, at Munich.

At the time, Dieter Zetsche said that the decision for the launch event was taken in order for their “competitors to see what kind of cars Mercedes-Benz makes.”

Normally, that kind of talk would seem kind of cocky for someone launching a passenger van, but the new V-Class is anything but that if you're taking a peek at its gorgeous interior and the amount of technology it packs.

“The new V-Class brings together the best of two worlds - the functionality of an MPV and the typical strengths of Mercedes-Benz passenger cars,” said Volker Mornhinweg, Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans and ex-CEO of AMG.

Featuring two equipment lines, two wheelbases, three vehicle lengths, three engines and a list of optional equipment that brings the comfort and the safety of a Mercedes-Benz S-Class for up to eight people, the new luxury MPV can fulfill quite a broad range of needs.

The all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W205) has its European premiere in Geneva, bringing a fresh new point of view as far as technology goes into its segment.

Thanks to its weight dropping by up to 100 kg (220 pounds) compared with its predecessor, the most aerodynamic body in its segment and a range of fuel-efficient engines, the new C-Class uses up to 20 percent less fuel than the old one.

Offering an interior that would be worthy of an S-Class in higher-specced models, it also uses a design language that brings a lot of common points with its much larger brother at the other end of the lineup, making it a worthy successor to Bruno Sacco's design philosophy (horizontal and vertical affinity, ed).

The Mercedes-Benz S 600 V222 also has its European premiere at this year's Geneva Motor Show, with its original unveil taking place at the 2014 North American International Auto Show.

Available exclusively with the long-wheelbase version of the S-Class, the 600 model comes with an exclusive range of features, with the most important one obviously being the twin-turbocharged V12 engine in the front.

Offering 530 hp and 830 Nm (612 lb ft) of torque from a total displacement of six liters, the new S 600 consumes exactly 21 percent less fuel compared with its predecessor, which is kind of amazing if anyone asks us.

The final European premiere from Mercedes-Benz comes in the shape of the big bad wolf in the S-Class range, the S 65 AMG.

With 630 hp and an electronically-limited torque of 1,000 Nm (738 lb ft), the new S 65 AMG (V222) finally gets a reinforced version of the seven-speed automatic gearbox which, along with a number of other modifications allows it to cut its fuel consumption by 2.4 liters per 100 km compared with its predecessor.

Last, but certainly not least from our point of view, the “Mercedes me” service brand was also introduced in concept form at this year's Geneva Motor Show, promising to introduce a whole new approach to customer service starting this summer.
