A restomod project like few others has popped online for sale, and it’s gotten everybody talking. Seeing how it’s a dump truck remade into a Bullitt Mustang tribute, the interest is hardly surprising.

The story goes back 2 years, when the team behind AzTrux, an Arizona company that sells reconditioned commercial trucks and heavy equipment, came across a 1992 Ford F700. This was no regular truck, either: it was a special-edition military truck that had been previously owned by the US Army.

Powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins straight-six turbo diesel engine paired to an Allison 653 five-speed automatic transmission, the truck was in decent condition but the body was in need of some TLC after spending years exposed to the elements. This led to the idea of turning it into a Bullitt Mustang tribute truck, by taking cues in the redesign from the famous 1968 Mustang featured in the iconic Steve McQueen movie Bullitt.

So, today, this dump truck comes with a Highland Green Metallic (also known as Bullitt Mustang green) paintjob, the Bullitt logo on the front, blacked-out grille and on the rear mud flaps. It also comes with 24,800 original miles on the clock, factory AC, rear backup camera, 20-inch steel wheels, and a bed that’s never seen a rock in it.

And, get this, if the Bullitt inspiration is not enough to get you to spend $54,500 on it, the owner says on Craigslist that it’s just the kind of dump truck that will guarantee you get plenty of attention wherever you go.

“650 H.P. and 1300 Ft. Lbs. torque for a reliable powerful dump truck that can be worked daily,” the listing reads. “Pulling your equipment to jobs AND MAKING A HUGH [sic] STATEMENT this unit turns heads!” In all-CAPS, because that’s how big a statement this truck is.

Or, for this kind of money, you can get yourself a brand new 2020 Mustang GT Bullitt coupe.
