You now have a chance to own the world’s fastest open-top car, as H.R Owen in London sells a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Edition.
The Veyron was built with only one goal in mind: to break all the records. And it did. When it was launched, 1,000 horsepower on a road-legal car were only achievable on paper, and the same was valid for its top speed above the 400 km/h (248 mph) mark. But the engineers and designers from Bugatti managed to overcome all the obstacles and set the standard quite high.

With the production of the Veyron now halted, if you’ve got the money, you can be the proud owner of this open-top limited edition example finished in Black Carbon Fiber with Orange painted Arancia Carbon Fiber details.

What makes it rare is that, of the 450 Veyrons ever made, only 150 were roadsters and only 8 were world record editions. Why World Record? Well, simply because it broke the world’s speed record for convertible cars in April 2013. With this 1,184 bhp (1,200 PS) open-top car, you can reach a maximum speed of 408 km/h (254.04 mph), of course on a closed and eligible circuit. Maybe you’ll never hit the top speed, not even on the German Autobahn, but having a car that you know it can do 250+ mph while the wind blows through your hair makes you stand out.

This particular Veyron is a UK spec car and was initially registered in October 2013. Since then, it only had one owner and covered just 1,130 miles (1,818 km).

The Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Edition that H.R Owen sells is priced at £1,795,000 (approx. $2,560,000).

It was a pleasure to sell this car to its first owner the first time around, and we are delighted that our unique relationship with our clients means that we have the opportunity to help the car find its second owner. This is a fantastic example of an iconic car, which has been meticulously cared for in its life so far. It will make a wonderful investment for collectors and enthusiast alike,” Anita Krizsan, Bugatti Brand Director for H.R Owen, stated.
